I'm still coaching swimmers after all these years. Before 1986, I had coached in seven different locations in the Pacific Northwest, but for the past eighteen years I've been in Boise coaching the Boise Y Swim Team. The Y has been very kind to me…giving me that little niche in the world.

The team has 200 swimmers, and on a daily basis I work with kids from 6 to 18 years of age. I've been blessed with a great gene pool of talent and have worked with over forty YMCA All-Americans. We also have had swimmers in the past five Olympic Trials, including this July. In 2003 someone must have paid someone some big bucks, for I was honored as Y National Coach of the Year. I love what I do and will be doing the same for years to come.

In 1991, Wendy and I were married by my father on Shafer's Butte near Boise. It was somewhat a rude awakening for me to suddenly have a household with three teenage girls! Wendy's eldest daughter, Danika, is now in her second year of a doctoral program in physical therapy at Idaho State University. Megan will be starting the masters program in accounting at the University of Oregon. And Kelsey, Megan's twin, will be joining Danika at ISU this fall for her first year in the physical therapy program.

For the sixteen years, Wendy has taught English, speech and government at Canyon Springs High School, which is the alternative school for Caldwell School District. When we can get away, we enjoy our annual pilgrimages to the Oregon Coast, to Colorado's West Slope, the Jarbidge Wilderness and, of course, the Tetons.

Life is good and I look forward to the reunion. Thanks to Bill for the website and to the rest of the reunion committee for their dedication and time to make this celebration possible for the rest of us.
